"Holy crap, big street fight outside my house... Not thugs, James Packer.. And some other angry bloke going toe to toe- total brawl... Wow," Chris Walker posted to Facebook as he witnessed the fight.

Troy Buswell and Rachael Turnseck $14,000 Junket

Sunday Times political reporter Joe Spagnolo reports former Treasurer Troy Busell and Chief of staff Rachael Turnseck spent $14,000 on a two week trip to France and Asia.

TROY Buswell and his chief-of-staff were living it large on a taxpayer-funded credit card, escaping to the French countryside during a “fact finding” light rail mission — at the same time that WA lost its prestigious AAA credit rating.

Credit card documents, obtained under Freedom of Information laws, show that the fallen Treasurer and Rachael Turnseck racked up almost $14,000 on hotels, meals, laundry and airport transfers during the two-week trip in August-September last year, which included time in Asia.

At one point, Mr Buswell and Ms Turnseck toured the French countryside, staying at the tiny hamlet of Vrigny in the famous Ardennes region — which is world acclaimed for its fine dining and champagne houses, including Moet-Chandon and Veuve Clicquot.

Nine News Perth in Ratings Win Over Seven News Perth

Working the weekends paying off for Tim McMillan and Nine News in Perth.

Nine News Perth, almost always beaten at 6pm by Seven News Perth, is suddenly winning the ratings battle.

TVW7 Perth's Seven News was outmatched thanks to a massive Ashes lead-in audience on Friday and Saturday night for STW Nine Perth.

On Friday night, 145,000 Perth viewers kept it locked on Nine for the Tim McMillan fronted news, on Saturday that number increased to 169,000 viewers and Sunday night delivered 178,000 viewers. Seven News Perth could only manage 116,000 viewers on Friday, 122,000 on Saturday and 149,00 on Sunday.

Nine Perth boss David Mott's decision to put McMillan in the presenters chair over the weekend is a smart move. An attempt to take it up to Seven News Perth in the long term.

Nine Entertainment Co executives in Sydney will be hoping the effort will help change the long-standing habit of Perth audiences to tune to Seven Perth at 6pm.

Nine News usually outranks Seven in Sydney and Melbourne, but Seven Perth's dominance at 6pm often gives Seven News the edge nationally. Occasionally that helps Seven win the ratings night.

If Nine can take it up to Seven in Perth consistently, Nine will see significant boost to overall national prime time ratings.
